About afranquemont

I'm a software developer, mother, and opinionated loudmouth. If you wanna know more, you'll have to go to my home page.
So far, I've written a scant number of epinions, based on things that have been near the surface of my thoughts lately -- I recently purchased a new car, so there's a lot about the cars I evaluated. I'm constantly wrangling the finances, so I've said my piece about some of the institutions I have dealt with.
Strangely, the article I've written which seems to have gotten the most play is about Bank of America. I don't think that's my best article, by far. I think my article about living in a tight housing market is much more thorough and interesting, and I'm surprised at how little my "Can Parents Do It All?" article has been read.
Everyone seems to want to know how people rate epinions, so very well. I start reading at a zero point somewhere between "recommended" and "somewhat recommended." If an epinion is worth reading, whether because it's entertaining, or because it contains a unique perspective or a specific view about something, it gets bumped up to recommended. Likewise, if it's generally informative but hard to read for whatever reason, it's recommended. I try to reserve "highly recommended" for the articles which are most thorough and informative, while simultaneously being easy and fun to read.
I'll give a "somewhat recommended" rating for an article that is minimally informative, and poorly written. For an article that's just plain idiotic, obnoxious, and poorly written, I'll give a "not recommended." Chances are I won't bother to finish reading such an article though, and I only rate articles I bother to finish. So you won't see a lot of NRs from me.
As to the whole web of trust thing, well, I will trust someone who first of all writes well and is a clear thinker, and second of all, either has similar tastes to my own, or who provokes me to think and possibly check out something I wouldn't have thought to. I don't have to agree with you entirely in order to trust your opinions. And obviously, a measure of who I trust is based on whether or not it seems to me like I'd give an epinion that I'm reading the same rating you did.
Oh, yes, and the last thing: I'm waiting for there to be hair care products reviewed so I can talk about shampoo and conditioner.
