I just came back from a long absence.
I have sadly, discovered that my friend Mark (Hard_to_Please) passed on in my absence.
I want to acknowledge not just his presence on this site, but also in my life. He was a good friend with a great sense of humor, a tremendous amount of character, time to spare for those that wanted or needed guidance, and in every sense of the word a "man."
On the Internet he was my pal. On this site my partner in crime. In real life, my friend.
I miss you, Mark, even though we hadn't spoken in years. My life is better for having had you in it.
I do not participate in reading circles. I do not engage in slander wars. If I read an article by someone that does either of these, they might not get a poor rating from me but they won't be added to my web of trust either. I believe that a person should be judged on their merits, not the power of their friends to collectively vote in their favor. And pay attention here, this goes for "Write offs" too. This is one of the things that has caused Epinions to abandon base Eroyalties and thus has cost many of the legitimate writers on this site some well earned income.
I'd like to extend a very hearty thank you Patrick Barrett, lead programmer and designer of the game The Sims and its expansion Livin' Large for his comments on my articles. He's big stuff and has read and commented on more than one of my articles about the game he made! Thank you Patrick, you've helped me immensely, and not just with the game.
