I'm really into Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Star Wars, and other fun, geeky stuff like that. I also like music, and I'm really into Tori Amos, Natalie Merchant, Dar Williams, Janis Joplin, Dido, the Indigo Girls, Patsy Cline, and other women who rock. I'm a wanna-be singer, and I also play the guitar a little bit.

I live, like I said, in VA with my fiance, a huge fuzzy cat (Strider), a little black cat (Arwen), and a budgerigar (Birgitte, but we call her Chickie). We're considering getting a ferret sometime soon, too. I can't wait! (Hey, can you tell I also love animals?)

School-wise, I'm a first-year PhD student studying musicology. (Music history, criticism, and analysis-type stuff). I'm into feminist interpretations of music (especially opera), Beethoven, and popular music studies. I'm also teaching an undergraduate course in sight-singing and melodic dictation. It's tons of fun. ;)
