Well, if you're reading this I suppose you want to know something about me.
I did have all the good career stuff here, like - If they know I'm a pilot, maybe they'll think I'm really cool and I'll get tons of hits an' make thousands of dollars an'... uuuh, Nope.
So who (or what) is the Beatmonster?
I'm basically an avid lover of life with a bit of experience and a hell of a lot of interests. Hmmm. Yep, that sounds like me.
I'm older than I look, older than I feel, and definitely older than I want to be. By the same token, I act younger than I should and I intend to do so for as long as I can get away with it.
I can and do act responsibly, but hey, every ointment has its fly.
EPINION OPINION
Love it! I have always enjoyed scribbling down the cortex-based rambling that goes on in my uppermost extremity, and this is a great place to do it.
WOT - Wot? I've not been very successful in building up an enormous WOT, but the people I trust are, in my opinion, some of the best reviewers on these pages. Some of them even trust me back.
I haven't yet found the secret of creating a megagalactic Web of Trust. Some people appear to have the entire Internet community trusting them.
I'm going to have to get the hang of this WOT business.
HOW DO I RATE (and who cares anyway)
I look for well written, well presented, reasoned opinions. Spelling is important, as is punctuation.
Although there are fundamental differences in British and American spelling and phraseology, bad grammar is an unnecessary evil. I don't expect a Masters degree in English Literature, but I do pretend that if you're writing publicly, you have the basics down pat (says he, frantically checking and rechecking for errors - which no doubt are present and waiting in the cyberspace wings, only to make their appearance after I press the "Submit" button).
If you satisfy me with the quality of your writing and tell me all I want to know about the product, it's HR city.
Omit a few nuggets of information, and I'll prod the 'Recommended' button.
Omit substantial amounts of information and you'll be 'Somewhat' penalised.
"I love this thing! It's so cool! It's the best thing since even before we had sliced bread. Man its great. I own it, I should know!"
You should know that you're going to get a rating that rhymes with "Hot". And Hot it's Not.
Do any of this last, ally it to abysmal spelling and/or grammar, tell lies or plagiarise or be offensive when you comment - and you are a WOD candidate. Right now you could be my first!
CONCLUSION
