About bkamphaus
I should probably refer you to my webpage (the link on the left) to try and find a somewhat decent attempt at a biography of myself. Unfortunately my poor neglected page has not seen much in the way of updating in... well, quite some time. Let's see. I'm engaged to a wonderful person named Katie. I play several instruments (drums, bass, guitar, piano, other percussive things...) and have been in several bands as well, though I'm not in one now. I record music with a multitracker and overdub all the instruments, but I miss the feeling of playing in a band with other people. I am currently a junior (well, pretty much a senior by prestanding credit) at the University of Oklahoma where I am majoring in English Lit with a minor in East Asia Studies. I'm currenty learning Mandarin Chinese. I started out as a Music Composition / Computer Engineering double major, but the Computer part didn't last more than a semester. I finally dropped the Music Composition program (after completing a lot of courswork, unfortunately) the first semester of last year, and have been straight English ever since (and loving it). I enjoy music composition, just more as a hobby than a career. I enjoy more of the cultural studies aspect of English Lit, and have spent some time (especially recently) analyzing unconventional texts such as television ads, lyrics, and computer games. I also enjoy gardening and cooking with my fiancee. This past summer we provided ourselves and several others with more than enough peppers (bell, california bell, habanero, and jalapeno), spinach, and lettuce. We plan to expand the garden next year some and maybe I'll put a website up for the pictures.
