I am Captain Blancmange. I am a mild eccentric known on earth as Roland Wilson. I hail from Buckinghamshire in the United Kingdom and am 32 years young. Some people dislike the eccentric part of my character, which daresay I wear on my sleeve, but these people I do not hold in high esteem.

I have an unhealthy enthusiasm for blancmange, which for the uninitiated, is a jelly-like desert stiffened with cornflour and set in a mould. I find it thoroughly satisfying to create as many types of original blancmange as possible, ranging from simple strawberry or blackberry to more experimental concoctions such as lemonade or Benylin (cough medicine) flavour. The more creative the blancmange, the tastier the blancmange!

I gather the bulk of users here are American or Canadian, but I am convinced a stretch of water should have no bearing on our understanding. Once I get to grips with the site I should become an active member. I will review books, movies and albums... perhaps dropping a few blancmange recipes while I am here!
