About carriebag
Hi Guys. I hope you enjoy my reviews. I'm a 22 year old student at Boston University studying Social Anthropology which has become my academic passion. As my senior year draws to a close, I'm spending a lot of time thinking about what the future holds for me. I'm very interested in restaurant and travel reviewing, public relations, event planning and entrepreneurship in general. In my spare time, I love spending time with my friends and meeting new ones. I love going out to restaurants- Japanese (particularly sushi), Fusion, Contemporary American and Indian are my preferred indulgences these days. I also love tasting new cuisines. One of my most interesting experiences at BU was taking a summer class entitled "Food, Culture and Society". A lot of people scoff at me when I tell them I took an Anthropology of Food Class, but I'm serious when I say that I strongly believe it IS an academic subject. During that time, (when not engaged in more typical academic pursuits), we travelled to Boston's many ethnic enclaves and sampled the foods of many different "cultures" (Cambodian, Indian, Japanese-the focus was on the Asian Continent). I love wine although I'm not well enough versed in the wine vernacular to review some of my favorites. At the moment I'm partial to Cabernet's and I love the Jordan Cab. 1997. I also enjoy surfing the internet aimlessly, shopping, coming up with crazy inventions, reading, going to the gym and going to bars. I grew up in Australia and I think this laid-back, beachside upbringing has made me a very "happy-go-lucky" person. I go home to Sydney twice a year and love my time there more than I ever did as a resident. It's a beautiful city with a lot to offer including excellent food, wine, beaches and people.
