NEW - enter my 'Growing up 80's write-off' i'm not even sure how to host a write-off but figure i'll learn on the way. I'm expecting Sadgit and Nsign to respond positively to this .... (well at the very least i hope they add their love of 80's stuff to my review).
Yes I am a strange and unconventional woman. I describe myself as a creative, intelligent, cheeky feminist who loves all the senses. I'm also an Aussie, I live in beautiful lil Adelaide and been told I have a nice accent!
I have a real love of foreign/artsy movies and a pretty impressive collection of erotic novels mainly written by women. It's ironic because I have yet to be able to go into an actual store and buy one of these books without feeling embarrassed... but it's on my agenda. Also a big fan of quality chocolate truffles and good restaurants.
I'm 29 years young in July, but still consider myself a child of the 80's, ah things were so much better back then were they not? The big hair, the music, arcade games need I say more.
Favourite Music
Depeche Mode is my favourite band, also love U2, The Police, Souxsie and the Banshees, Bjork, Kate Bush, Blondie, Duran Duran and rock acts such as ACDC, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin. Too many others to mention but generally if it ain't country, classical or rap I'm pretty happy.
Mentioned above I have a love of science fiction shows (Dr Who, X-Files, Babylon Five, Red Dwarf) and movies which I have been told is unusual for a woman. So yes I have a large number of nerdy sci-fiction male friends who really ,are like the Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons. Also a big fan of hotrods and classic cars which I won't be writing about as my knowledge sadly is all aesthetic hahaha.
Oh yes I'm a huge Simpsons fan, my ultimate feminist role model is Lisa Simpson, she's intelligent, ethical and creative.
Things I look out for in reading other users reviews include the ability to be succinct, humourous and to exhibit a uniqueness. I like to think I'm very tactful and constructive with comments and expect the same back.
On another note my favourite tv shows include The X-Files, The Muppets, Sex and the City,Sesame Street, Medium, Dr Who, Dave Chapelle, Garth Marenghi's Dark Place, The Office and Little Britain.
