About cheflady
|
I chose my userid, cheflady, because I enjoy cooking. I don't cook every day, because I work a full-time job and my children are pretty grown and the expectations just aren't there like they used to be. Even my husband understands that I can be pretty tired by the time I fight rush hour traffic and get home. So, we eat out several nights a week.
My daughter that lives with us enjoys cooking too and will occasionally make a meal which is ready when I get home from work. That's a real blessing!
My husband and I both come from large families which is why we probably get along so well and then again why sometimes we don't. We met in 1972, when my parents moved across the street from his parents. We were both young. His parent's moved the year we got married, and my parent's moved about 7 years ago and sold us their house which is where we still live. It holds great memories for my kids, because they spent a lot of their childhood in this house. Their names are written under our hallway steps along with some of their cousin's names. Apparently, my mom used to shove all her grandchildren under the stairs anytime there was a bad storm, if she was in charge of them that day. She would give them coloring books and crayons and they would play there until the storm was over.
So, that is how their names ended up written under the stairs. Sometimes, when all of the cousins get together at our house for a holiday, they check out the storage under the steps just so they, too, can talk about their good times at Mima's.
I enjoy surfing the web when I have free time. I'm finding as my kids have become very independent, and my husband finds more time for golf, that I have more time for my own interests. I started reading reviews online while surfing, and find that it is a very useful tool when comparing products. Then, I thought I'd throw in an opinion of my own now and then. So, here I am, now writing reviews on a somewhat regular basis. I enjoy the feedback as much as what I'm telling others about my experiences with products.
I don't always read reviews first, because there are times when I can't even locate a review on a particular item of interest. For example, I recently bought a Cook's Essentials Titanium Ti Copper Clad 3 quart chef pan from QVC for my brother out-of-state. It is stainless in and out, with the exception of the copper clad bottom. I chose to buy online and have it shipped rather than shipping it myself. I just hope it holds up really well. The pot he and his wife pulled out on my last trip down there was, let's just say, in dire need of being replaced. I think it was aluminum, oh my word! It was dented and dinged pretty bad.
So, reviews are invaluable, and even better when you can read them for FREE. Epinions fits the bill. I ran across this site doing a search on something or another. I don't necessarily agree with everything I read if I have a different opinion based on my own experience with a product, but I still find them invaluable. Sometimes, downright entertaining, which is fun too.
If you happened across one of my reviews, and you ended up here, I hope you visit again.
