About Chuq
Chuq is a dyed-in-the-wool native New Orleanian (sometimes insufferably so) and these days is public radio DJ at KCSN 88.5 FM in Los Angeles, CA (Northridge). He is a certified (certifiable?) music nut, primarily in the fields of roots, traditional and folk music (but listens to modern/alternative/indie rock 'n roll, older rock, good non-mainstream non-Nashville country, traditional jazz and classical music too).

He has a frighteningly large but fun and informative website called The Gumbo Pages, which includes the popular Creole and Cajun Recipe Page, the Looka! weblog, music and restaurant reviews, lots of stuff about non-commercial radio and lots more.

He's written liner notes and produced compilations of several CDs of Cajun, zydeco and other roots/folk music on the Rhino label, and has also written several restaurant reviews for Frommer's 1999 Guide to New Orleans.

He occasionally refers to himself in the third person (but only when writing dopey web site bios like this one). He also uses parentheses too much (do you think he's overdoing it?).
