I've been online since 1990. During the early years my primary source of information was Usenet - I lurked in the newsgroups, reading a lot, but not contributing much (partially because of my fear of criticism - something that I am trying to tame and overcome).
In 1996 I became a Webmaster and the tables have turned completely. I would spent my time talking to readers via my sites. Occasionally I'd receive a feedback, but that was pretty much it as far as two-way communication.
Then, I've discovered Epinions. Granted, my original thought was "Cool, I can make some money here!". But after writing several reviews I began to read what others are saying and suddenly realized that this site could help me on my way to balance and harmony.
Listening to other people. Being interested in them. Respecting other person's opinion, even if it differs from mine. These are the areas where I'd like to develop myself. And maybe, just maybe, Epinions will help me along the way.
