About debranmichael

As 'normal, ordinary, every day consumers', we both expect that the products we buy will work in the manner for which they were designed for a reasonable length of time. Assuming others are like us and not necessarily well versed in every aspect of techno-speak (as there is a whole lot of new technology out there in the big wide world these days), we also expect that products will have instructions/manuals that are understandable by every day people. Should there be a problem with the product, we expect customer service to own up to it and fix said problem.
I'll admit it - we're cheap! - so anything that hits 3 digits gets careful consideration prior to actual purchase. Rarely do we buy the least expensive thing on the market and just as rarely do we buy the most expensive generally opting for something in the mid range. Neither of us are impressed by the big brand names so we do considerable research prior to purchase.
Michael has a tendency to fly off the handle the minute things don't work the way they're supposed to. I (Debra), wanting to defend the decision we made, am willing to deal with customer service and repairs, to go on line to find answers, etc. This is exactly how I ran into Epinions.com. Only after much frustration do I fly off the handle declaring we "will never buy another thing from such-and-such company again!" Fortunately, Michael now becomes the rational one so any of the opinions from us you may read should be balanced.
We prefer to reserve judgment until we have some working knowledge of a product so will not proffer an opinion on anything we just got (well, maybe we will but only if we absolutely love or absolutely hate whatever it is!)
Michael is in the pool/spa construction/repair business; Debra markets a resort hotel in Mexico -- we're just regular consumers.
