About desslok
I have been watching movies all my life. I first saw Jaws at the nautical themed Admiral Theater back in 1975, I saw all manner of cheesy teen skin flicks from American International Pictures at the drive-in theaters, I was busy wasting my teenage years sneaking into Friday the 13th movies at the multi-plex, I watched Godzilla flicks on Sci-Fi theater Saturday afternoons on the local UHF station. I watched the latest Chuck Norris offering from Canon Films on cable television late Friday nights. From Kung Fu to science fiction to Sword and Sandal to 50's horror - if it's cult, camp or cheese, I've probably seen it.

My goal here is not to tell you if Casablanca is a good movie (it is, by the way) or if that new Uwe Boll flick is worth your time (probably not). My mission in life is to embrace the cheesy, the camp, the so-good-it's-bad, film. In short, it's less about whether a movie is good or not, and more if it's ENJOYABLE to watch. If it's crap and still fun - like say Plan 9 From Outer Space - that puts it light years ahead of a dreadful phoned in effort like Meet the Spartans.

So join me on this cinematic journey as I shine the spotlight of praise (or condemnation) into the dark recesses of Hollywood and beyond, seeking out the bad and the good, the boring and the overlooked.
