I grew up in Southeastern Pennsylvania, about where the Philly 'burbs meet Amish country. The years there have four seasons, it snows, and I couldn't imagine a better place to have spent my childhood. We didn't have cable or air conditioning, and when I wanted a car, I had to buy it with money I earned from working. (What a concept!)
I've been a musician since I was eight, and I think music in school was the single best thing I did there. I trust musicians far more than non-musicians.
My friends and siblings are very intelligent, quick-witted, and have some of the most finely-developed senses of sarcasm that I've ever seen. I consider it a privilege to have come up in their presence. Not surprisingly, nearly all of them are also musicians.
I think I'm pretty observant and insightful, and I really enjoy that people take the time to read what I have to say about things. So, I try to be as useful as possible while not letting emotion interfere with rational thought, objectiveness, and logic. I also try to throw in a little humor. I hope you don't feel like you've wasted your time reading my opinions.
