About doglover4120

I'm a 40-something year old physician in California's Central Valley. Have travelled extensively on every continent, usually backpacking with Lonely Planet in hand, including a 7 month 'round the world trip in 2000. Occasionally stay upscale to keep the wife from divorcing me, but really love roughing it in exotic third world destinations for a real glimpse into the lives of locals that you won't see at a $300/night resort in India. Hobbies: photography, rock-climbing, skiing (water and snow), boating, reading history and biographies, debating politics (especially when drinking). Now travelling with a new challenge - a daughter born in July '07. The jungles of Borneo may have to wait a few years ...
