I am a PR factotum at a major Ivy League university. I have grown children (not grown enough), a husband (likewise), a fairly robust collection of friends, and, like any other half-intelligent person, I'm miserable most of the time.
My politics are left, liberal, progressive by American standards, whishy-washy middle of road by the standards of the rest of the industrial world. I love movies so much that I am rather forgiving of ones that are just mediocre, but I do walk out on ones I consider pretentious. (Oh, I read books too, but I read so much for work that it is becoming increasingly difficult to do it for pleasure). Like Candide, I sustain the slings and arrows of misfortune by cultivating my garden. Again, my standards are low. It's the process I'm after.
