I'm a retired health care professional and writer, cottage gardener, full-time cat slave, avid websurfer and parent. When I was able-bodied, my paying jobs included research nursing at a major medical center, consulting for a personal injury attorney, nursing in an outpatient hepatology clinic, working in an inpatient women's polydrug and alcohol treatment center, contracting for Intel as a technical writer, and working full time in a telecom startup as a technical writer. My unpaid jobs included 7 years' managing a variety of internet mailing lists, including three lists with an international scope, student council positions, newspaper editor, juvenile diversion program community advocate, rape victim advocate, and crisis hotline volunteer.
