After almost two years of playing the role of an epinions voyeur, I decided to throw caution to the wind and actually join as a full-fledged member. Now people can live vicariously through me! Bwahahahahahaha...yeah.
A few little plot points about my life:
I was born in 1975, and raised in and around Toronto, Ontario...Canada, where I currently reside. In 1998 I completed my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theatre from Simon Fraser University, which is located in beautiful British Columbia...Canada. I have been directing, acting, and writing for the theatre for almost 15 years now, and needless to say, it is a passion that truly gives me a tremendous amount of personal and professional happiness.
In addition to my love of the theatre, I am a voracious reader of all things. Everything from fiction to non-fiction, magazines to newspapers, it is all fair game... reading is definitely my crack cocaine.
Specifically, I enjoy a wide selection of mystery novels from all over the world, contemporary spy thrillers, Tom Robbins, Jasper Fforde, Douglas Adams, biographies, the performing arts (theatre, film, and music), history, true crime, and let's face it...anything and everything in between!
My movie and television viewing, like my reading list, is all over the map. More often than not though, I am attracted to work that takes risks, recognizes the importance of a good story, and gives me characters I can invest in. And for the record, low-brow comedy can achieve this just as well as high literary drama.
Musically, I love that old time rock 'n roll, jazz, calypso, reggae, blues, bluegrass, lounge, classical, opera, soundtracks, and am a self-professed musical theatre connoisseur (that is to say, I own waaaaaay too many cast recordings, and can rhyme off waaaaaay to much Broadway trivia!).
Just to balance things out, I am a huge baseball fan (Go Jays Go!), have been playing golf for over 20 years, and will watch just about any sport out there.
As far as the epinions nom de plume goes...check out Don Delillo's play The Day Room. It's one half of a dual role I was fortunate enough to play.
And finally, to quote Stephen Sondheim:
You go into the woods,
where nothing's clear,
where witches, ghosts
and wolves appear.
Into the woods
and through the fear,
you have to take the journey.
