In response to this:
"Well shouldn't we jsut negotiate with Al-Quaeda in Iraq? "

My new hero Clark Kent said this:
That's what the junior Bush has been doing. They wanted us out of Saudi Arabia, so he quickly did so. They wanted Bin Laden to go free, so he let him. They wanted American freedoms to be broken apart, so Bush broke them. They wanted their funding sources to remain secret, so Bush hid them. They wanted Saddam gone, so Bush took him out. They wanted Iraq to be a breeding ground for terrorists to train on, so Bush left hundreds of tons of high explosives littering the landscape for them to loot and use at will. They wanted to use opium production in Afghanistan to fatten their wallets, so Bush gave them record production years. They wanted American borders and ports to be left wide open, so Bush left them open. Shall I go on?

It just doesn't get any plainer or better than that, folks...

I wish I had said it.

Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.

- Benjamin Franklin

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"So long as the people do not care to exercise their freedom, those who wish to tyrannize will do so; for tyrants are active and ardent, and will devote themselves in the name of any number of gods, religious and otherwise, to put shackles upon sleeping men." ~ Voltarine de Cleyre
"Any excuse will serve a tyrant." ~ Aesop
"Every tyrant who has lived has believed in freedom--for himself. " ~ Elbert Hubbard
"Tyranny and anarchy are never far asunder." ~ Jeremy Rentham
"Tyrants have always some slight shade of virtue; they support the laws before destroying them." ~ Voltaire
"Our liberty depends on the freedom of the press, and that cannot be limited without being lost." ~ Thomas Jefferson
"How fortunate for leaders that men do not think." ~Adolf Hitler
"Every nation in every region now has a decision to make. Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists." ~ George W. Bush
"You don't get everything you want. A dictatorship would be a lot easier." ~ George W. Bush
"I told all four that there are going to be some times where we don't agree with each other, but that's OK. If this were a dictatorship, it would be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as I'm the dictator." ~ George W. Bush
"A dictatorship would be a heck of a lot easier, there's no question about it." ~ George W. Bush
The WeatherPixie
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming ~ WOO HOO what a ride!"
