I am a skater, a basketball player, a gamer, a student, an Epinions member, and some other things. I like to watch cool shows like the Simpsons, sometimes wrestling like ECW or WWF, but wrestling is getting boring. I also watch Whose Line is it Anyway, because it's pretty funny, and it's not scripted! By the way, since I don't have a scanner or a photo URL, I decided to put one of my favorite cartoon characters in place of my picture. Bart Simpson rules!!!!!!!!! I'm not telling you what grade I'm in or how old I am, but do you even care???!!!
WARNING! My How I Rate System below may be a little long and boring, but don't panic! If you don't want to see this stuff, just skip this boring blah blah blah system I made and just look at whatever you want to look at! If you do want to look at how I rate, then go ahead and enjoy yourself!
How I Rate Opinions:
Highly Recommended I usually give out HRs to opinions that are very detailed, lengthy, and opinions that give good detail on very important aspects of the product or thing they are reviewing. I think a good opinion is one that states both the good AND the bad. Spelling and grammar matter to me a bit, so a Highly Recommended opinion is almost perfect spelling and language. I mostly look at video game reviews. If it is a video game that you are reviewing, then the important aspects that I look for are the graphics, sound, how much fun you had, the control, and/or the gameplay. If you don't give detail on the controls of the game, that's ok with me, and I just look at your review and see if there are details on the gameplay. Controls or gameplay, either one is good for me. Some extra nice touches that can back up your review are talking about the replay value, the plot of the game (if there is one), the features and modes, some of the characters (if necessary), and who you recommend and/or don't recommend the product to. Again, these are just extra touches to me. If you don't put all of them on there, then it is usually ok with me. If you are reviewing anything else besides a video game, I like it when people talk about important aspects and features, and answer questions about categories that other people might have about whatever you are reviewing, like for example, if you are reviewing a movie, a person might wonder, "How good was the story?", or "How well did the actors perform?".
Recommended An R to me is an opinion that's pretty good, but not great. I have many reasons for giving out Rs. I give out Rs to opinions that talk about all the important aspects, but don't give enough detail on the categories. It could also be that you gave really excellent background information, or information on another aspect, but you didn't really talk about the other points. If I feel your opinion could have been longer, or if your spelling could have been better, then I won't hesitate to give you an R. One of my main reasons for why I might have given one of your opinions an R is because you probably didn't talk about one or two of the most important categories.
Somewhat Recommended Let's see, the opinion is too short, missed about two or three very important aspects, and spelling and grammar is not so good. It could also have been that your opinion was too short, only mentioned a few features or aspects, and gave very little detail.
Not Recommended This is my picture-perfect idea of a Not Recommended opinion: a one paragraph review that may have A LOT of spelling errors, improper grammar that's hard to understand, biased writing, and missing a lot of important points, such as 3 or more, possibly even ALL of them! Also, the author of this Not Recommended opinion might have said, "This magazine/game/movie sucks!" without even explaining him or herself. He or she could have also said that the product rocks, without even really backing the statement up. Whenever you say that a product is good or bad, you should at least explain why you think so.
