About gc_mom
Hello, my Epinionated neighbors! I'm back after a very, very long hiatus, but I'm back. Wish I could say I've been touring Europe the last few years, but I can't. Perhaps I just got married and have been a very "busy" newlywed, but I haven't. I could have been on a secret trek to find buried treasure, but I wasn't. I can't even say I finished the novel that I alluded to years ago. (And before you ask, no I haven't been in prison either.) I have no excuses, really. Just the usual forever-busy, single-mom, trying-to-make-a-living, real-life . . thing. I've always loved to write, but for me it's hard. Finding the inspiration to begin, for me, comes only from true passion for my subject matter. (What!? you say. Yes, I do remember that I wrote a review about a set of highlighters. Read the review. They were the best darn highlighters on the market! By the way, they still are. Just so ya know.) Then I'll spend roughly an hour or more, researching details to make sure that I understand each and every in and out, anticipating a whole spectrum of questions I might not otherwise have thought of. Generally, two more hours of pre-writing, writing, editing, editing, editing (you see my problem) oh yeah, more editing, will eventually result in a Word doc that I'm finally comfortable pasting into Epinions posting format. I'll read through one more time, tweaking as I go until I think it's perfect. Finally, the "Submit" button beckons, but wait, I found one last typo and . . . "Submit." Phheeww. Great, now I can read my final product along with everyone else. . . . darn, that sentence is long . . . I didn't really write that, did I? I keep thinking the more I write, the easier it will get, but so far no such luck. I think my muse is a huge tease . . . and perhaps a bit of a sadist. Some of you ole' timers look me up and catch me up on all the new goings-on. I'd be happy to grab a cup of coffee and sit on the virtual porch swing with ya awhile. I'll be checking in, just you wait. . . . . . um, it could be awhile. :) Alisha
