I live and work in Massachusetts and I'm about to be married to a wonderful woman named Claire.
I work as a System Administrator for a technical book publishing company. I administrate the Microsoft Windows desktops and servers, the Apple Macintosh machines, maintain the telephone and voicemail system, and I assist with Unix/Solaris/Linux administration as necessary or when I am feeling friskie.
For play I don't do anything much right now. I moved to MA from Tennessee about 18 months ago and in that short time I've moved twice, survived two layoffs, visited Maine a lot, had major repairs done on my car, got engaged (and moved in with her and her two cats), and signed a book contract. I feel like I've been busy, but my social life might be boring to some. I don't think it is because it is entirely centered around my fiancee.
I was born in Virginia, lived in Alabama and Germany, raised in Tennessee, attended college in Pennsylvania and Missouri, and worked in Tennessee and Massachusetts. The pattern of moving around is typical of a military family. I don't think I have any social disfunctions as a result of that, but I might not be unbiased.
Personally, I'm an honest fair person who doesn't like hypocrisy in himself or others. I shoot from the hip, have a thick skin, act in socially responsible ways, and in general try to do the right thing even when it hurts.
