About gwenrachel
i am an artist, a mother of a five month old daughter, a graduate student, and a native vermonter currently living in texas. my interests include semiotic theory, post wwII advertisements, comic books and webcomics (Clowes, Hernadez Bros, Bagge, Crumb, Julie Doucet, and Walt Kelley) the hidden history of the christian church (gnosticism, connections with paganism, knights of templar, priory of sion, mary magdalene, jesus as mystic/magician/initiate of egyptian tradition, black virgins, etc.), attachment parenting, collage art (especially Joseph Cornell), Sylvia Plath's writings and life, conspiracy theories, dada and fluxus art, tantric sex and fireworks. I collect espresso cups (and need a new machine), old bottles, camras, and vintage dish towels. I read extensively; favorite authors are Ellen Gilchrist, Sara Maitland, Diane Ackerman, Charles Panati, Sylvia Plath, Kerouac and Dorothy Parker. I love coffee and aspire to buy an Atomic home Espresso machine someday.
