Hi everyone, I'm sort of "new" on epinions, although I did have an account here that I wrote a few reviews for years ago, which has since been inactivated from disuse. I figured that since I use epinions so much for their product reviews, it's about time I started contributing something back again.
A little background: I graduated from Cornell University with a double major BA degree in evolutionary biology and physical anthropology, and I am currently a medical student and second lieutenant in the army. Among other experiences, I´ve worked as a research associate in structural chemistry (human virology), an EMT, a counselor´s aide for autistic adults and short stints as an ESL teacher, veterinary technician and pet store employee. I am a movie and travel buff who also enjoys painting and drawing as hobbies.
I love all my pets dearly, whether they be furred or finned. I currently maintain several freshwater planted/community and breeding tanks of 10-75 gallon size and 3 saltwater tanks 10-60 gallons in size (the largest is a reef tank). I frequent many online fish forums and bulletin boards (under the pseudonym "Pandora") to help beginners get started in the hobby and I´m a moderator, site host or contributor of articles on several, so if you have gone on any of the larger fish sites, you've probably come across me and my writing in some form. In my spare time, I also volunteer as an adoptions representative for the humane society.
Lastly, my interests fall mostly with sci fi movies/books, college basketball, trance music, and yes, the electronic gadgets that are the money sink for most of my paycheck (along with buying things for the aquariums). Like a bad drug habit, that's where I get my name--if someone knows a way out, I'd like to hear it!
