I'm not an Epinions addict and I don't contribute to non-review related topics (specifically, Epinions commentary topics). I will, however, review things where I can add some real value. I will give honest feedback on the reviews I read on my own, as well as on reviews written by those who visit mine.
I don't believe that providing micro-detail necessarily makes for a good review. I don't believe that describing what happens in a movie is equivalent to reviewing a movie. I don't believe that one should make global assumptions about a service offering from one experience unless you can make a compelling case that your experience was the norm.
I do believe that if you can tell a visitor why they should or shouldn't like a product, service, book or movie in a way they can understand, then you are performing a useful service. If you can get that visitor to look at something in a way they haven't previously, and get them to reconsider previously held positions, then you are really adding a great deal of value.
If you can entertain someone with your intellectual content, whether they agree with you or not, then you are adding a great deal of value.
