About hularider
|
HulaRider, Leilehua Yuen, is a brand new motorcyclist who, upon becoming a grandmother and getting smacked in the face with middle age, decided to live her dream of learning to ride. Since the summer of 2001, she has logged around 100,000 miles on a variety of motorcycles. Her first bike remains her favorite. "Li'l Black" is a 450 cc 1982 Honda Nighthawk. However, her current ride is a blue and silver Suzuki Intruder 1400.
When not cruising around the Island of Hawai`i on some bike or another, she can be found at her desk writing about Hawaiian culture and arts, or in her studio teaching Hawaiian culture and arts. Or touring the state of Hawai`i and the Mainland demonstrating Hawaiian culture and arts.
HulaRider has lived in Hawai`i almost all of her life, and is grateful to have a career in which she can help to preserve the culture of her Hawaiian ancestors.
Those who logged into her website and were frustrated by all the dead links will be relieved to know that HulaRider spent over 45 hours cleaning the site! Take a look - she's got photos of her Nighthawk up, now, too. . .
