Budapest is the capital of Hungary, has 1.800.000 habitants - a Japanese tourist guide says Paris-Prague-Budapest are the capitals you should see before you die.
Hungary lies in Central Europe, our neighbours are Austira, Slovakia, Ukraine, Romania, Yugoslavia and Slovenia. Hungarians arrived at this place in 896, and the state was founded in 25 Dec 1000 by Hungarian St Stephen, our first king. He converted the roving Hungarians to the catholic religion, and settled the nation down. Since then, we live at this place.
St Stephen's sun was Imre (St Imre), wherefrom I have the first firstname Imre. In fact, Imre is a very usual name in Hungary. It comes from the Latin Emericus: Emery (English), Emeric(French), Amerigo(Spanish). You might know, that the continent of America got its name after the Italian explorer Amerigo Vespucci. So, if you live in America, my name, Imre, should not be very hard to understand. (Read more here.
My second first name is Oliver, which I prefer to use anyway, but this was a nice story to tell. :-)
Our economy was greatly influenced by the history of the 20th century. During the Second World War, the country was occupied by Germany, than, after the war it was occupied by the Soviet Union. We regained independence in 1990, and from that time the economy is growing. Life is not easy, people has to think over when they purchase something, but now what you can buy in Western Europe, you can also buy here.
I like a lot to play, watch and talk about basketball, though I still don't have a favorite team in the NBA! I love to dance, perhaps my favorite is cha-cha. We often go out to parties, where you can dance also ballroom dances, great atmosphere. In 2003 I started some Judo, though as a complete beginner, I have great fun on the Tatami.
I write reviews only on things that I really had experience with. It is important for me to write about not only the features that you can find with a little browsing on an other website, but to show how it worked under my hands. I hope you will find the content that reveals the details on the topic that helps you decide. I rather go for quality in my reviews than for a large number of reviews, so my writings are interesting when you want kind of an in depth look.
You will see updates in my reviews without "Update:" notice in the end. This is because English is a foreign language for me, and sometimes I reread my reviews, and correct some spelling or style. If there is a content update, it will be shown.
I am very happy for every comment, both positive and negative. If you rate my reviews only Helpful or Somewhat helpful, I encourage you to leave a comment so I can improve.
