About israelh
|
I was born in Maine, USA; my family moved to Beaverton, Oregon before I turned two. I grew up in a strong Christian family and church community in Portland. My main extracurricular activity was violin. Besides weekly private lessons, I was a member of the Portland Youth Philharmonic for over five years and my brothers and I formed the Hsu String Quartet. We performed in recitals, local ensemble competitions, and private weddings and parties.
Upon graduation from Beaverton High School, I moved to Seattle to attend the University of Washington. I lived in a house of Christian brothers and experienced much spiritual growth and joy there. I graduated in just over four years with a B.S. in computer engineering.
Following that, I attended a two-year Christian training on Bible truth and Christian service in Anaheim, California. That prepared me for a life-long pursuit of the Lord and for the following year of full-time campus ministry back at UW in Seattle.
Now I have returned to academia at UCLA and look forward to obtaining a Ph.D. in computer science in a few years.
