| Epinions (and other) Stuff
People have always said that I'm an opinionated git, so epinions is the perfect place for me!
In addition to my participation here, I write short stories, essays, and poetry, which I publish at WrittenByMe.Com. Feel free to check out my writing.
If you've ever wondered what it's like to be in a wheelchair, my editorial about being disabled in a physical world may give you a small idea.
One of my early reviews here was an editorial by the title of "I'm 100% American", which was about multiculturalism and what my multicultural family feels about it. Newlywed has written a very interesting response to this editorial, which, although I may not agree with all of it, I found to be a very interesting viewpoint, worth reading and thinking about.
| | Me Stuff I'm a 39 year old woman with a stupendous 13 year old daughter.
I recently divorced, and am getting remarried in November to a wonderful man I met this year on the internet.
I am also the birthmother of a lovely 23 year old young woman, Bonnie, who I gave up for adoption at birth. We were reunited in 1998, and I discovered at that time that I have a beautiful little granddaughter, Kodi. I also have a another granddaughter now, Fallon.

My Web of Trust:
I am trying to keep my WoT limited to those writers whose reviews I consistently feel are HR quality. I find these people by peeking at the profiles of those who have rated my reviews, as well as by poking around in the Just In page. A few of the people on my WoT are very close personal friends, my former husband, and several of the people I have been MUDding with for the last 5 or 6 years. If you are in my WoT, then I am also getting notified when you write new reviews, and I promise my WoT that I will religiously read and rate their epinions. I do not promise you that I will always give you an HR, because everybody does indeed have their off days in writing, but I will always comment on why I didn't HR you and watch for a response.
I also must state here that if I find that somebody is completely on the opposite side of political/social/family type issues from me, to the point that I wonder why I ever added them to my WoT, then I will swiftly remove that person from my WoT. No offense is intended by this, but if I am unable to believe in you as a person, I certainly cannot include you in my WoT and thus lend credence to opinions I do not believe in.
On the other hand, I will continue to trust somebody who feels differently from me regarding products and services, as there is no personal morality involved in whether you prefer a Sony television over a Magnavox. | How I Rate:
Exceptional reviews that are clearly written and get the point across to me always get an HR. Clearly written reviews that make their point to me get an R. Foggy reviews that I have to work to understand get a SR, but only if I feel that they can actually be improved upon. I try to always leave comments on SRs, but don't always manage to do so. Finally, reviews that I feel are beyond hope or against the user agreement rules get a NR. Again, I try to leave a comment. Also, I do report abuse any time that I find it. This is a great thing we have here, and the community as a whole really shouldn't tolerate abusive twits.
I do not base ratings on paragraph formatting, as I am aware of a glitch with epinions and WebTV users: mainly that those poor suckers on WebTV lose their formatting when they hit the submit button, and that epinions doesn't allow them to hard code the paragraph tags into their reviews. It's too bad, because there's a lot of great reviewers who are getting NRs and SRs based on the paragraph formatting that they have utterly no control over. Get with it, epinions, and treat those poor benighted individuals like equal authors. |
