Information on pretty much anything I'm interested in.
Frankly, I've got a rather checkered past. Courtesy of the USAF, I got training in a number of specialties, none of which I'm doing now (and a couple of which the AF isn't doing any longer, either.) But transferring them to current technology, I've been (at times) a geodetic survey technician, a flight engineer on C-130s, and a missile mechanic on a since-retired weapons system of the city-stomper variety.
Since I got out of the AF I've had a lot of 'sucess' in staying employed in the PC field. (defined as - I've kept a roof over my head, and haven't starved to death. I've got abysmal taste in choosing companies to work for.) I like playing with the hardware, I'm interested in the new things coming out - and am currently employed helping users at a local aerospace facility.
Regarding equipment certifications, I've got an armful. Compaq, AST, Dell, IBM, HP, and I'm working on (very slowly) my NT certifications. Frankly, after spending 8+ hours a day supporting users in an NT environment, I'm not too eager to study the stuff.
In addition, I'm still serving in the AF Reserve - that will change in '04, I think. (I'll be at 25 years - that should be enough, don't you think?)
I married in 1993 (having waited long enough so my folks were starting to seriously wonder) and in 1998 our son was born. It's amazing being married happily, and even more amazing to see this little creature growing up before my eyes. It's scary - tonight he was telling me where rain comes from and why. At 2 1/2. And he was right... "There's dust in the air, daddy. And little bitty drops bump into it, and grow into great big drops that fall down on us!"
Yep, he takes after his daddy. Likes to learn things, and form opinions on them. I can just see it now, when he hits school age, he's already going to know how to read and do basic math, and the school system is going to be so boring for him...
Anyway, that's the brief. See you!
