About JLSloan
NOTE: During the weeks of July 10-19 I'm doing some extra work and later going to a big family reunion on the Oregon coast! My reading/rating has slowed considerably due to this and previously helping move my daughter's family. Please bear with me; I promise to catch up on your reviews as soon as is humanly possible!

The background for my profile page (can you tell it's a little girl playing the piano?) was created by Marie, who makes beautiful backgrounds and web sets. Her website is: http://www.artistic-designers.com.

SOME WELL-DESERVED PRAISE

I greatly thank djgeiger (Epinions ID) for placing this background for me. Also, if you read her reviews, you might find them, as I do, very heartfelt and inspiring.

Several people have been especially helpful to me in my 'newbie' state here on Epinions, and I'm grateful: again, djgeiger has been invaluable; craftgun40 has offered much help and a valued e-mail friendship; acdc711 has been very kind in her giving of friendly advice, and etrustman supported me when I was even more vulnerable as a new writer here and continues to do so, bless him. Ptieman has been very loyal, as have magcentaur, greenspi, gungian and many others. All of these people write wonderful reviews; see for yourself!

There are so many good and versatile writers here! I've always wanted to find a place where I could write from my heart. Now I can read and learn from the work of others as well.

I suppose you could say I'm in love with my career. I've a small business as a piano teacher (30 students and growing; I thrive on it) in my home in a refurbished room I call the 'Piano Room.' I come to know people of all ages here and have the honest privilege of teaching them about music. I also direct the choir for my church and learn more from people who love to give their voices - and time - than I can ever show them, believe me! I'm 51 YEARS OLD (age can't hide; why should I?) as of June 26th, I'm a parent who raised three children alone (making mistakes as I went but not for lack of love!) & a grandparent of seven very different and matchless children, two of whom are fraternal twins (who look VERY alike!). My time is usually spent working with music in various ways; I may be busy, but it's no hardship: it's my life!

HERE'S A BIT ABOUT TRUST

I'm not here to condemn anyone; I'm here to write. And read and rate too. Whether I agree or not with the content of your article, whether or not the grammar could use a little correcting: these things are not my emphasis because I'm no one to set up a standard for anyone else, being too busy trying to pull the log out of my own eye.... If I must be a judge, and it looks as if here I must, I will rate using these criteria: sincerity; enthusiasm or belief in what's covered; thoroughness of research regarding products, and depth of thought in editorials. I love to laugh right along with what I read if it's funny. I've also cried with those who write of grief.

I thank you all; we're part of a site that can truly make a difference on many levels: our inside levels as well as those on the surface!
