About JMB623
|
I am a lawyer by day and a geek by night. Computers and software became a serious hobby a few years ago, and I have immersed myself in fooling with and writing about them ever since. I learned a lot about operating systems and device drivers by tweaking Windows 95 until I wiped it out. I replaced it with Windows 98 and wiped that out a few times, and now I'm mucking up Win XP Pro. I've always learned a lot in the process, though.
I taught myself to do hardware and software installations the hard way (by screwing up), and began to do beta testing and software reviews about 5 years ago. I have written articles and software reviews for www.pcwin.com. I use to answer posted questions for the HP Deskjet 895C on HP's 895C Community Forum web site when it existed. I was an expert at www.exp.com, did beta testing of Stamps.com software, and wrote/edited for the help files and on-line user manual for the commercial release. My most recent completed project was beta testing for www.forty.com. Currently I answer hardware and software questions by e-mail from yet another web site (PCBUILD). I have rebuilt several computers and recently built a custom job for myself from scratch.
