About johnenfield
I was born in 1973. I grew up on a cattle ranch near Arthur, Nebraska which is about 80 miles northwest of North Platte. I am a Product Specialist at Circuit City. I help customers find the games, movies, music and electronics they want. I also give them advice when they are not sure which ones they want. In the meantime, I am working on my A Certification at a tech school called Tech Skills. I hope to start my own computer repair and upgrading business someday. I graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Natural Resources. I worked at university research stations as a research assistant for several years. I also worked as a Rangeland Management Specialist for the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service for five years. I have since decided to switch gears and pursue my interest in computers instead. I have been an avid gamer ever since I received my first Atari 2600 (remember that?) for Christmas when I was a little kid. I have played games on my friends consoles such as the NES, Super NES, Nintendo 64, Sega Genesis and Dreamcast, but never bought one. I decided to play games on a succession of increasingly more powerful computers instead. I upgraded things such as the video card, sound card and memory on each one, then bought a new one when I felt I it would be cheaper to start over than to continue the upgrades. I currently have a Sony Vaio VGC-RB40 PC with a 3ghz Pentium 4 proc, 2 GB RAM and a PNY Nvidia GeForce 7800 GT video card. I play all kinds of games on my PC, but tend to like shooters, turn-based strategy, and space flight sims best. Over the last six years, I have acquired a Game Cube, X Box, Play Station 2, Gameboy Advance Micro and a Nokia phone that can play games. I am being re-introduced to the joys of console gaming. Consoles are so much cheaper, more stable and have games you can rent(which PC's don't). I wonder now why I waited so long to upgrade from my Atari (which still works by the way). I have recently rediscovered table-top games and have been running Dungeons and Dragons Miniatures Battles games based on the rules found at www.ddmguild.com at events around Las Vegas. It's a lot of fun. A great way to make friends too. I am also a movie buff, especially sci-fi and adventure films (huge Indy fan) so I write about movies too. I'm beginning to take an interest in comedies and classic movies (especially John Wayne movies, partly because I'm named after him, partly because he was such a good actor). I love to read (a gamer who reads, yes I find time to do both) so occasionally, I'll review a book I've read. As with movies, I prefer sci-fi, humor and adventure books. I also read the occasional mystery book, especially Sherlock Holmes. I have been messing with web page making and have a web page for my parents guided hunting/camping business on Max Pages.com and a page of my own for whatever interests me at 1UP.com. I have recently gotten married to a wonderful woman, Joani, who is my soul-mate. We have moved from Oklahoma to Las Vegas since she got recruited to be a kindergarten teacher here. Last but certainly not least, I am a born-again Christian and the most important recommendation I could make would be to get saved and have a relationship with Jesus Christ. Epinions is a really neat site and I look forward to reading your opinions and sharing mine with you
