I just graduated from college last year, so I'm still somewhat in the "starving college student" mode I guess. I'm currently working with some friends on an Internet startup (and therefore a bare minimum salary), so I do try to find deals and save wherever I can. When I do spend money on big-ticket items though, I do research like crazy. Besides from drowning myself in reviews, I also try to hunt down good coupons (a lot of really good online deals are out there--just takes some time finding), to maximize the bang for my buck. I'm a big believer in consumer advocacy (I was imagine everyone else on the site is as well, or else we wouldn't be doing this!), and a big fan of Ralph Nader. I was so happy when I found Epinions--it's exactly the site that I believe can fight the product misinformation that some of the companies put out, and keep the market honest. I've been a bit swamped in the last few months, but as soon as I get a chance to catch up, I'll be writing more Epinions. Take care!
