About k9kiska
|
Deon Reynolds has recently been awarded an Artist in Residence grant for 2005 -2006 by the Nevada Arts Council. This prestigious position will allow him to share his passion for fine art photography with students of all ages around Nevada.
His first book titled NEVADA was released September of 2001. He also creates high quality imagery for publishers and the advertising/design industry worldwide. His images can
be found with two of the best photographic fine art stock agencies, Photonica, and monsoonimages.com. Through these agencies Deon's images have been used in campaigns for such clients as AT&T, Boeing, and Honda as well as many others. Publishers Graphic Arts Center and Simon & Schuster, to mention a few, have utilized his photographs as well.
His images also grace the covers of numerous music CD s.
Deon started his photo career at the age of seven, assisting his father, Robert Reynolds, on commercial and annual report projects. They journeyed together while his dad created images for coffee table books, which fueled his love of traveling the West with his own cameras.
His creative side was enhanced through education at the Metropolitan Learning Center, Pacific Northwest College of Art, Portland Community College, and Portland State University. He did graduate studies abroad with the University of California at Berkeley. He also apprenticed with several renown Northwest artists and photographers.
His recent show of black & white panoramas at The MetroGallery in Reno received rave reviews from Artweek magazine. Other gallery shows include Quartersaw, Obscura, Artique, and the Columbia Center in the Portland metro area, in Seattle at Benham Gallery and Nelleke Nix, and in Reno at Sierra Arts. Art Direction Magazine has honored him with a Creativity Award, and Print Magazine has recognized him with an Award of Excellence.
