About KarenZero
Hi, my name is Karen and I'm an 18 year old high school senior from San Mateo, CA.

I have been listening to punk rock ever since I was a lil' twelve year old and the habit has stuck as I've grown older. However, I enjoy other types of music as well: the genres that branch off of punk, like emo (don't laugh. I love weezer and the get up kids and the like), ska (rootsy ska, two-tone and some third wave), and hardcore; alternative rock (although it's pretty bad right now); some rap; some classic rock; and whatever else I that tickles my fancy.

Unfortunately, I've been known to use the internet a lot (it's for work, I swear). I go to lots of concerts and local band shows (at least every other weekend it seems) and that's been my favorite pastime since I was in middle school. Since I go to a lot of concerts, it makes sense that I listen to a lot of music in my spare time as well. I volunteer once a week with my school's community service club and am also a member of my school's Book Club (we read books).

A year or so ago I was co-editor of a 'zine(it is currently in hiatus due to my co-editor settling into college). Working on it involved managing both writers, advertisers, and meeting deadlines. It also entailed getting ourselves known, countless hours of writing, doing layout and making contacts. I hope to continue these entrepreneurial activities in college, where ever I end up.

In the future I hope to work in some aspect of the music industry and will hopefully be majoring in music business or recording in college.
