Registered Nurse with 31 years experience, almost half in Mental Health, now working as a Telephone Triage nurse. Of Irish-Indian extraction, I have both freckles and dimples. I'm both diabetic and a Lefty. In my *free* time, if I'm not reading a novel, listening to music, or creating a new taste sensation, you'll find me, completely self-taught, surfing the WWW, with occasional wipe-outs.

I'm happy to have served Epinions as an Advisor, Expert and former Top Reviewer and one of two original Category Leads in Music, my very favorite stomping grounds, writing about Old School Funk, R&B, Soul, Blues, Blues-Rock and Classic Rock plus the occasional foray into music of the mid 90's and onward.

I've recently retired my tie-dyed frilly TR hat in another of my favorite areas, Homes & Gardens, where cooking and the creation of simple, yet delicious recipes are my thing. In the past couple of years I have been "gifting" faithful readers who make it through copy about kitchen utensils and pots and pans, with a selection of personalized, and home-tested recipes, and now will be writing related ones in the Writer's Corner, under Quick Recipes. I try to gear these to be easy enough for the less-than-experienced, or even novice cook, and they are a jumping off place~see variations included~for the more adventurous. Completely self-taught, if I can make it, you can too!

I was also seen sporting a Top Reviewer's party cap in Books, meaning I really had my work cut out for me! I'm most fond of mysteries, but am liable to be found reviewing thrillers, sci fi, fantasy, American Indian fiction, and the occasional romance, as well as books on home design, architecture and selected floor plans.

I tend to be slightly lenient in what I rate, not expecting full product specs, lengthy copy and paste ingredient lists, or professional quality/length reviews to rate Very Helpful. If I find good use in the review, and often if it entertains as well as informs, that's the key. Helpful reviews would have some elements of usefulness, though not as thorough as VH, and a Somewhat Helpful review basically shows me that you are trying...

Besides Media, my favorite reviews are always about travel and food, in one shape or another! Maybe that's why I seem to have a huge fantasy where I'm the female equivalent of a cross between Cameron Crowe/Arthur Frommer/Mr. Food.

So what do I do for fun? I collect wild and crazy Hawaiian shirts, (the louder the better), burn eclectic CD mixes, gather cookbooks and chef's specialty/secret recipes from unique places I've eaten, dabble in creating my own luxurious and pampering soaps, lotions, creams and butters, (bombarding/gifting friends, relatives and co-workers with same), and try to visit favorite places, or new favorites, like Seattle, Hawaii and Southeastern Alaska, as often as possible.

I have a dream of someday owning a self-designed log cabin in the woods, (Santa Cruz County, Mt. Charleston near Las Vegas or Flathead Lake/Swan Lake areas of NW Montana), and enjoy developing a number of workable floor plans on my 3D Home Architect software. These cozy homes are between 600 and 1,500 sq. ft. and are either 1 or 1 1/2 stories. It's a challenge to me, to design environmentally friendly, yet amenity-rich small houses with plenty of storage space.
