I have been using epinions for about 3 years now. I took a break from it for the past year after having it be part of my daily routine. I found more and more people getting bashed for their opinions, yelled at and even sworn at. It just wasn't fun anymore. But I thought I would give it a go again because there is a lot of great people on epinions who write great reviews, and give opinions on your reviews.
I base my opinions different areas, depending on the product Price, how well it works, satisfaction, build, durability, (sp?) among other areas.
Movies, I am a horror buff and hate romance. So I will not be writing or rating reviews of romance lol. I Stick to what I know. Best movies to me are (Scarface, Green Mile, Shawshank redemption, Misery)
Music, Here is one catagory where people get very defensive if you write a bad review on someone they like, So I have tried to stay away from this topic in Epinions, Though I did write a review on Led Zeppelin box set.
Best group Led Zeppelin. I do like most kinds of music, Rock, Classical, Classic rock, oldies, 70's, (I don't like pop, jazz or rap sorry)
Books. I really enjoy reading Stephen King and John Saul mostly. Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkien has been one of my favorite since before all the hub bub about it. I got Into Lord Of The Rings in the mid 80s, I find it one of the best books written of all time.
You won't find me writing reviews on Travel (I don't travel often) though I will read opinions to find out helpful advice on travel areas then I will rate how helpful it was. I won't write reviews on music, shopping on line (I rarely buy things on line)
Things I find I know the most about is appliances, children's toys and programs (ages 9-up), computer stuff, (not all computer stuff) but like printers, isps, web hosts. Also pets and pet products, and around the house cleaning products and such.
When I have time I try and read other's opinions and rate them fairly.
