After an intensely long session of over ten whole seconds of soul searching and reflections upon my inner soul, I thought I'd whip up a few details about myself, one that my nom de plume photo may not adequately cover.

At this point I'll be content with just working after suffering through years of school so far but eventually I'd like to end up as a researcher hopefully in the fields of either genetics or pathology at the molecular level, two areas I feel will be critical to continual medical advances as we move further into this century.

Sports are such addicting experiences, for me at least. While in high school I was pretty active and played varsity basketball and football but with age arrives a greater inclination to couch potato status and now I often find myself watching football on the weekends instead of playing. No wonder that six-pack seems to be disappearing by the day. Anyone got any interesting activities that an "old timer" in his mid-twenties might enjoy?

As further confirmation of my couch potato status, my new found favorite hobby is shooting pool. Some people find this strange but I love going down to the pool hall on a saturday afternoon by myself and shoot a few games of 9-ball while watching college football on the large screen at Six Pockets, my favorite pool hall in Tampa (go Miami Hurricanes!). Some may say that I'm a bit of a hustler but no, I swear I did NOT miss that shot on purpose.

I guess we all have a weakness and well, I confess that I have a terrible weakness for cars. I love getting behind the wheel of just about any car (especially a model that I haven't driven before) and sizing it up and getting a feel for the road. I did have a stint as a salesman too, back in my undergraduate days thanks to an unfair advantage due to nepotism. Speaking of selling, thanks to the stagnant economy of late, the automobile market has been suffering. Note to potential customer: Take advantage of this because prices will be dropping.

I may live in the U.S. now but my descent is Sri Lanka. That patriotism stuff gets a bit confusing at times, until I remember Planet Earth is still united against the evil Alien Invaders right?

I've also started getting addicted to Epinions since its a really neat way to share your thoughts and opinions on different products and issues in some cases, and make it count too. Most of my reviews revolve around my life and my personal experiences with a product. I try to be informative without being too long and boring, and if you think some of my reviews are entertaining, feel free to massage my ego by e-mailing me and telling me so!

Have fun reading my random writings (you'll notice I haven't been too specific but in the future I plan on getting more involved in the "Health" and "Autos" sections). I also enjoy hearing from other "epinionators" so if you ever have questions/comments feel free to do so!

MY RATING METHODS

I tend to be picky when giving out "Very Helpfuls" so that anyone in my WOT will know an article is of a top notch quality. Generally, a "Very Helpful" review would have to be informative, original, entertaining and organized. Epinions is also more about consumer feedback and is NOT a sounding board for out of work writers. Therefore, if your writing skills are exemplary but your "epinion" lacks substance, I'll be less likely to give you a good rating as compared to someone who may not have expert writing skills but was able to provide excellent personal insight into his/her use of the product along with some background information on the product.

Any article that seems like its missing just a little bit but is otherwise useful towards making purchase decisions is rated a "Helpful" by me.

"Somewhat Helpful" is applied to an opinion that either seems to have been written with no effort but contains a little substance, or rarely one thats written with some effort but has no substance.

"Not Helpful" is applied to an opinion that does not have either of those two traits. If you've received either of the above two ratings from me, I welcome all e-mails asking for explanations/re-ratings.

Plagiarism is an act of unadulterated, sociopathic evil. If I suspect it, there will be serious consequences.

WEB OF TRUST (WOT)

If you consistently write informative and entertaining reviews that I can identify with and you have read at least a couple of my reviews, you will most likely be on my web of trust. Thanks to all who have included me in their WOT!

If anyone disagrees with a Rating I have submitted for an opinion, please e-mail me and I will either re-rate it or explain why I gave it that particular rating. Thanks!
