I am 37 years old and married to a self-employed contractor. Together we run a small company in our hometown. I also work outside the home part-time, as a volunteer coordinator and information & referral specialist for a local community service agency. We recently moved in to a new home, which we share with our two children- Abbie, 5, and Alex, 2. I am a general extrovert and love to perform in public. I am an aspiring singer and songwriter with big dreams! I love to sing country (anything except Shania!) and karaoke, and especially love singing the music of the Catholic faith! :) Need a good female singer anyone?? I do weddings!! Ha ha! But in all seriousness- I may not be the greatest thing on earth but I know God gave me the gift of music, and for that I am truly thankful.
My epinions personality: I do this because I enjoy it, not because I think I am an expert or because I am trying to make a ton of money. I write about the things I know or have experienced, and try not to leave any details out. Lord knows I am not perfect though, and if there IS something I leave out I appreciate being called on it. Sometimes my reviews might be a little harsh, but when I find something I am disappointed by I feel the need to be honest about it. And on the other hand, when I am satisfied with something then I try my best to tell you why. Maybe my opinions are a little strong now and then, but I guess that's just my way.
As far as rating other opinions goes, first I look to my WOT. I go in and look at the profiles of the people there, and rate any opinions they have written which I know something about. Just because a person has not written an opinion about the same product as me does not mean I won't put he or she on my WOT. Usually I build my WOT my looking at the profiles of people who have rated my reviews. Even if there isn't a product I am familiar with, I will add them to my WOT provided I like what I see. Anytime I see well-written, honest opinions in which I can sense they have put some thought into, I will add them to my WOT.
I also have no bones about putting people on my Distrusted list if I think they deserve it. This list is reserved for those people who, when they disagree with my opinions, have decided it is better to insult me rather than tell me why they do not agree. One of the people on there called me stupid- and I'm sorry but I just will not stand for that. If a person is not capable of getting on here and offering decent arguments without the use of petty name-calling and/or accusations, then I see no reason to trust them. If you don't agree with my reviews or the way I write, then I am mature enough to handle that- but that does not justify making assumptions about me and calling me names. Grow up- we are not children.
So there it is. Maybe my ways are different from yours, but that is what makes the world go round, and what makes epinions so interesting and fun.
Only one thing I truly ask of you: If for some reason you decide to rate my review as Not Recommended, then at least do me the justice of understanding why. So many times I have received an "NR" from someone who not only refuses to divulge their identity, but fail to offer an explanation as to why I earned the low rating. To me, this is the height of inconsideration. If there is a valid reason why you feel I have earned this rating, then I appreciate knowing what it is. Lord knows I am not perfect, nor am I an expert in what I write about, so I am bound to make mistakes in my reviews. Knowing what those mistakes are helps me avoid repeating them in the future. And besides that, I just think that it is common courtesy to afford someone that privilege if you give them that rating. I am not a small person- I can handle getting a "NR", I just like knowing why. Sorry, but I think the option of hiding your identity is wrong- seems to me that it defeats the purpose of having a Web of Trust. So anyway, even if you do remain anonymous, be a nice guy and tell me honestly (and courteously) why you rate me as you do. I'm a big girl, I can take it!!
