The profile picture is one that I use as an avatar on a wide variety of web sites. His name is Sir Edmund Hilary, normally just called Ed. He was a foster cat at my house from August 2007 until December 2008. He is one of a litter of 6 kittens born in July 2007. We kept two of his brothers as our own.

I grew up in Longview, TX, where my parents still live in the house they moved into in 1967. I graduated from Longview High School in 1980, and completed a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics in 1984 at Centenary College of Shreveport, Louisiana. That October, I left home for Navy Basic Training in San Diego, CA. While in the Navy, I have been to: San Diego, CA; Monterey, CA; San Angelo, TX; Pensacola, FL; Pyongtaek, Korea; Ft. Meade, MD; Pensacola, FL; Ft. Davis, Republic of Panama; Okinawa, Japan; Ft. Meade, MD; Pensacola, FL; CG 67 USS Shiloh; Meridian, MS; CVN-68 USS Nimitz. Retired from the Navy, worked for NS Microwave, then Intel, then started in an electrician apprenticeship program.

I am happily married to my wife, Terri (trthomp).

We have 5 dogs & 11 cats. We also host foster dogs & cats for a local pet rescue
