About luckylad
Growing up, my favorite television show was The Waltons. I could always identify with John-Boy because I wrote things down in a journal. Although I doubt seriously if I could ever write a book because I would feel life is passing me by. Still, I have a definite artistic bent, having majored in the arts in college at UNO and LSU (Geaux Tigers! National champs 2003). I digress, and I do that a lot. Sorry. While I still root for my Lousiana teams and Louisiana players like Peyton and Eli Manning, football doesn't have the hold on me like it once did. Pro sports have disenchanted me as I've grown older, although I still play and follow golf a great deal. I am an animal lover and animal rights activist. I fulfilled a lifelong dream to own horses recently and make my living in the field of horse racing. My wife and I live a quiet life in a small town with a few cats to keep us company. I'm very interested in gardening and would like to learn more about Japanese-style gardens in the future. In retirement down the road I hope to return to my artsy ways of youth and get back to painting. Also, hope to travel some each year to new places both here and abroad. My favorite sports heroes have been Bjorn Borg, Steve Cauthen, Secretariat, Affirmed, Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, Tom Watson, Lee Trevino, Bobby Nichols, Arnold Palmer, Archie Manning, Edd Hargett, Peyton Manning, and Aaron Baddeley. My favorite movie of all time is It's A Wonderful Life. I love reading anything by Dick Francis or Bill Bryson.
