About Margaret1220

I am updated I am now 54 and just moved into an apartment with my husband of 24 years. In September 2011, I went to the Emergency Room for a chest xray to see if I had pneumonia. I had been sick for a week and was making arrangements to go to Florida to a rehabilitation center.
My xray and cat scan showed that I had a large mass in the upper left lobe of my lung and that I did in fact have pneumonia. The Attending Doctor was really upset and said to get to an oncologist immediately. Well several days later I went to the Cancer Center and was seen by the Chief Oncologist.
Several Tests were ordered including a Pet Scan and it revealed that I had Stage 4 small cell lung cancer which spread to my spine, hip brain, liver and showed spots through out my body.
A port was placed in my chest to administer medicines and to withdrawl blood. I then started Chemotherapy, but there is no cure, I am in Pallative treatment. We are hopinng the CHemotherapy will reduce the cancer and extend me some time and reduce the pain. The cancer has caused a decompression fracture in my spine which is really painful.
But I am doing good, gained weight and I stay active. My youngest daughter 22, just had a baby boy, my 4th grandson, just could not get the granddaughter, my oldest son 30 has three boys. But Cayce who is three months is my pride and joy and I see him almost everyday.
I just want to be with my family and as I previously stated we were homeless and we lived in a shelter for three months, I miss my friends, I talk to them but it's not the same as seeing them everyday.
Anyway, Chemo, my soldier and I are doing battle and I am living one day at a time. With my computer back up and running I hope to get back to doing epinions.
