About Mattog

Hi,

I'm Matt and thats me on the left about to embark on the great anchor hunt...read all about it below. I'm originally from Ireland but have been living in San Francisco for the past 6 years. I'm hoping to make my fortune on e-pinions and I'm getting closer every day...a penny here a nickel there :-) ha ha.

I'm a natural show off and know-it-all so this site is perfect for me to rant and rave about all of my favorite things and the stuff I hate.

I only write reviews about things that interest me and as a result I will only read reviews on the same topics. I'm being brutally honest here...if you have a couple of good posts about the outdoors, I will read them and review, but I'm not going to read your 218 posts about your bowling ball collection. I think too many people read and recommend posts on topics about which they know nothing just to curry favor with popular epinion members. I know nothing about bowling so how can I recommend a review of the latest bowling ball?

I want to inform and be informed so that I can make educated choices about the stuff that is important to me. Ain't that the whole idea?????

HOW I REVIEW

If I read your review and say to myself..."Hmmmm..I did not know that!" you get an automatic High Recommendation. I'm more interested in content than grammar so the occasional missing comma won't hurt you...this is not an exam.

What drives me nuts and will earn you a poor review is the epinion that says "This is a great shoe/tent/car, I really love it, its the best one I have ever owned." I want to know why! Give me specifics that I can use to make an educated buying decision.

MY ULTIMATE GOAL

Is to appear on somebody's list of favorite reviewers. How cool would that be!

Other than that I'm not hard to please.

Slan. (Gaelic for Hi & See ya)
