Unbiased Reviews by Real People
...to see what there is to see. Anyone home? Anyone remember me? Come to www.opinionators.co.uk and say hi.
I am a transplanted American - I've been living in the UK for more than 20 years now *gasp*! I married an Englishman. Someone had to. I am the mother to a beautiful 17 year old daughter, who is my pride and joy. Mostly I love science fiction, folk and rock music and seafood. I hate romantic fiction, hip-hop and rap music and offal.

How I rate
Very Helpful I like it. A lot Helpful I like it. Somewhat Helpful It's OK, maybe needs a little something. Not Helpful I don't like it. At all (I don't use this one much). Off Topic It's OFF TOPIC - chances are, I probably like it. Or at least I may do. Having said that, I don't use this one much either, because I think it rots that OFF TOPIC=NOT HELPFUL in the rating summaries.

26 June 2002 - WORLD CUP UPDATE
The teams in the FINAL will be....Brazil vs Germany
Well, Brazil won 2-0. So ends another World Cup. Don't worry, before too long all this World Cup drivel will be deleted - for another four years. But what will I put in its stead? Answers on an email, please :) 21 May 2002To all those of you who left kind comments and sent emails, I am sorry to say my mother in law died Sunday evening peacefully. It's a tough time for her family (my husband, sister in law, father in law and my daughter), but we take comfort in all the kind thoughts, and in the fact that the end was peaceful. Participants in the SHOOTING STAR WRITE OFF - Forgive me if I've left anyone out: LRGuis, tombarnes, councel, petra, tigger1313, freak369, lattechick, aerocat, psychovant, naphtalia, artbyjude, xiphoid, badkittym, xiphoid, hempem, and me (mattygroves) Check them out - check them ALL out!Links Posted as they Come In LRGuisPetra Hempem Tombarnes Counsel Naphtalia Artbyjude And FINALLY - me - mattygroves 27 April 2002 Well, here I am again. This time, hosting a write off, for the FIRST time. Some friends and I are raising money for a VERY worthy concern, and, for us, VERY local. More details on the charity here: The Shooting Star Trust. It's a hospice for terminally ill children, and we're hoping to raise LOADS of money for it (£2000 or more). To that end, you are all invited to write a (legitimate) review that is SHOOTING STAR (or at least STAR) based - it could be on a book, a film or anything relevant. Perhaps you're a STAR Trek fan, or into astronomy, astrology, or Hollywood STARs...the choice is endless. All I ask is that it's on topic, and that you let me know who you are and what you're writing about before Tuesday 21st May (my birthday, as it happens) - posting will be from Monday 20th until that weekend of the 25/26 May. 23 November 2001 - yet ANOTHER update Well, I'm out of work again. This time, they paid me to go, as I made a formal complaint about workplace bullying. The good news is that I finally have internet access at home. Epinions here I come! 29 August 2001 Well, back to England today - back to where I have no internet access at home, and have to sneak time at work. I'll still read and rate when I can, and sneak the odd opinion on. Feel free to e-mail me anytime! I got a job. A piece of advice: If you're ever looking for a job, send me. If I like it, AVOID IT LIKE THE PLAGUE!! I really know how to pick 'em. Oh well. A few notable authors This list isn't exhaustive - just those I can think of off the top of my head at the moment! This list will no doubt increase as I read and review. Thanks to kuuleimomi for showing me how to put links and other cool stuff in my profile page. I raise my glass! Freak369 Not just a great writer, but a neat person. She writes on a wide variety of things, from Lego to a huge, eclectic range of music. Halloween is obviously her favourite holiday. Check her out - one of my favourites is her review of MacDonalds vs other fast food restaurants. Tigger1313 Best review - Road Ballet. It made me laugh big time. A very bright young man. I wish he'd write more often! Andaryl Beer. Beer. I love beer. He loves beer. 'Nuff said. kuuleimomi Friends from Russia - she's an Editor in movies and music and deserves the title. It's great to get views from abroad!
