I grew up in the Silicon Valley in the 1970s -- when silicon meant "chip!". When I was younger I had the time to build radios, transmitters, and stereos. I used a personal computer in 1975 (It was an HP 8585 that had a 5 or 6-line LED display, a built in printer, and stored files on cassette tape!
I spent most of my life in California. I took up bicycling and backpacking -- two activities I find nerds like. Then I moved to Hawaii and Colorado.
Now I find that I'm a middle-aged white guy. I live in Canada! I have more money than time, so I like to buy high-tech things and travel. So that's most of what I write about.
I suppose my favorite tech thing is is my computer (I must spend 6 hours a day in front of it). Because I like music I'm also a fan of CD players and burners. I like my PDAs, too.
I love to travel -- in the winter to get away from cold Canada, and in the summer to see beautiful Canada, especially the west. I've been to most of the US, Europe, Japan, Australia, Israel, New Zealand, and the Cook Islands.
I have a very sexy wife, a beautiful girl, and a little boy. My favorite activity is when the wife gives me my weekly poke.
