About mcmaster
|
I was born and raised on the California / Oregon border. I live in-between Mt. Shasta and Mt. Ashland at the base of the Siskiyou Mountains. I joined the Army when I was seventeen and spent a few years in Ft. Bragg NC training and jumping out of airplanes. After my tour I joined the Army National Guard and started Logging in the woods. I spent many years going up from a choker setter to a landing chaser to a skidder operator, Cat Skinner and finally a timber faller. Eventually I went down to Sacramento and became a Licensed Timber Operator and started my own logging company with my dad and two younger brothers.
Then Bill Clinton and Al Gore were elected. Our logging company didnt last long. I went back to work as a timber faller working for Helicopters and air cranes. I also spent time cutting in Alaska for several Yarders and high lead shows.
Then September 11, 2001 happened. I called a recruiter and was going through the MEPS in a couple weeks. I was looking forward to serving some Justice to the terrorists who just murdered over 3,000 people. I served the first year guarding a top secret military facility. Then I was deployed to Iraq where I served as a vanguard to incoming troops, then as a praetorian guard to a Major General and finally as a Quick Reaction Force based at LSA Anaconda, Baghdad Iraq. I was wounded and spent eighteen months in a medical unit healing and going through surgeries.
Now I spend my time with my dogs. The more people I meet, the more I like my dogs. I enjoy movies, martial arts, Mixed Martial Arts, hunting, fishing and the outdoors. I also enjoy reading and writing here at Epinions.

How I Rate Reviews
Very Helpful
I give a Very Helpful rating on the majority of my ratings. The review should give a good Thorough description of the film, book or product. It should also contain the pros and cons to the product being reviewed. The review should also contain your final analysis or conclusion. You should also read your review before posting it. Check for proper grammar and spelling. Most reviews that include the above information will include three to six paragraphs. There are exceptions; some products do not warrant long reviews. How much can you say about a good coat hanger that you want to review?
Helpful
I give out more than a few Helpful ratings. Generally, I rate Helpful because the review fails to provide enough information. Another reason is that someone will give an overview a film, book or other product with little analysis. Another reason is poor grammar and spelling. It's too easy not to do a spell check.
Somewhat Helpful
Again I give out a few Somewhat Helpful ratings. The biggest reason for receiving a Somewhat Helpful rating for me is because of a lack of information and analysis. Most two paragraph reviews will get this rating from me. One paragraph rating will usually fall into the express reviews where they can be rated Show or Don't Show. When I give this rating it's almost always a lack of information. Remember to check grammar and spelling.
Not Helpful
I do not give many ratings of Not Helpful. I give these ratings to someone who is posting obscene garbage or nonsence. This is not the place to post that sort of stuff.
