Welcome to Meepstah's page! (as always, under very slow construction)
Working on some ActiveX stuff for this page, but it's
comming along slow...seems HTML is not my favorite lingo to work in.
Anyway, doing what I can...
Never one to tell too much about myself on the net, but I'm
an engineering grad from Purdue and I like a lot of "stuff". I do a lot of
technical work, and I read a lot...not to mention the fact that I'm very
opinionated, so a site where I am actually enticed to tell everyone "how it
really is" is a godsend! Enjoy the reviews, I try to be as honest as possible
and as direct as I am able. I read and rate every review by every person I
trust, and I try to read (It's not hard yet) every opinion by those who trust
me...This site is going to eat a lot of my time.
Feel free to email me, and feel free to leave comments; I love to hear what
other people like and dislike about my writing. It's a large part of what
I do for a living so I find that feedback on anything I write can be helpful
both here and in the rest of my life. This bio will evolve as I do on
Epinions, my views on the site and my philosophy are changing as fast as my
opinions are written...more on that later.
I'm sure you're curious about that little pic next to my name, and as of late
the server it's been on has been very flakey so I've set up a little web service
here with the sole purpose of providing uninterrupted access to that picture
(Well, maybe it's got my other sites and such on it too, but we can
pretend). Now, for your viewing pleasure, here it is...and yeah, it's what
you thought it was.
Web of Trust
My Web of Trust is probably what has changed the most over the course of my
personal introduction and discovery of Epinions. At first I stated here
that if I was added to anyone's trust list, I would reciprocate. This
seemed like a good idea, as doing such would grow the list of people who trusted
me, right? Apparently not, as most of the folks around here take that list
very seriously and in fact tend to ban uses with statements such as mine
above. Should anyone have banned me and manage to read this, please
reconsider...I've re-evaluated the purpose of the list and come up with
something a little closer to that which you all have in mind I believe.
Of course I encourage everyone to trust me, who wouldn't, but I am now very
selective of who I put on my list. I will add a user the first day that I
see their name if I read through their list of opinions and find that I like
their style, appreciate what they write about, and that they are reputable in
the community; however that doesn't happen often...Only those who I feel I would
believe if they wrote the only opinion on a product are those who are on my
list. I don't push this philosophy on anyone, it's just how I have decided
to use that list.
Epinions.com periodically updates pricing and product information from third-party sources, so some information may be slightly out-of-date. You should confirm all information before relying on it.
