I have been happily married for 26 years this November to a great man who is obsessed with cars, looking at them, reading about them, tinkering with them, an all around car "nut."
We are members of a stock car racing team in Norfolk and spend time at the races every weekend during racing season. My husband is the major mechanic of the race crew. It is good wholesome family fun!
We have 4 great children (2 boys and 2 girls) and 4 beautiful grandchildren (3 boys and 1 girl).
We are a retired Navy family so are used to the moving it entailed along with making new friends every 3 or 4 years. It was a wonderful experience.
We have lived in Texas, Florida, California and are now living happily in Nebraska. I believe we have found HOME!
I love the winters in Nebraska. There is nothing more beautiful than fresh fallen snow! I love walking at night in the still quietness of falling snow. It is such a majestic experience.
I am a member of Northern Heights Baptist Church and sing alto in the choir. I really love to sing and think that is a really neat way to praise the Lord.
I was blessed with a children's daycare business in my home for 11 years. What a wonderful and eye opening adventure.
I found this site (epinions.com) by accident. I am really enjoying reading and writing opinions.
In my spare time I do volunteer work at our local food pantry.
Most of my opinions are on Kids and Family.
HOW I RATE REVIEWS
First and foremost, I am a stickler for correct spelling and punctuation. To receive a HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating from me requires a well written opinion/review with some "body" to it.
I believe that if you really know the subject you are talking about, one hundred words will not be hard to come by. That is a requirement from Epinions anyway.
A RECOMMENDED rating is chosen when I think someone has really made an attempt to write an opinion/review but just doesn't give enough facts. The review kind of leaves me thinking "what else were they trying to say."
A SOMEWHAT RECOMMENDED opinion is one that I choose not to use very often. I feel that if I can't at least give a RECOMMENDED rating, I believe the author needs to go back and think about his subject a little more.
A NOT RECOMMENDED rating is one where I believe NO thought went into the writing. Either the person doesn't really know their subject and is just trying to get something sent to epinions, or, the spelling and sentence structure is so bad that it can hardly be read.
I also give NOT RECOMMENDED ratings to opinions/reviews that contain profanity, malicious content or sexual overtones in them. I don't believe there is a need for anything like that on this site.
My Web of Trust isn't very large, but I think that is okay. I do add people that I trust to my list after I have read several of their reviews and have rated them. I also check on their ratings and how they rate other reviews.
Do they have mostly HIGHLY RECOMMENDED OR RECOMMENDED ratings? People with the upper ratings have proven themselves. They are usually superior authors and I DO want them on my WOT.
