About Mjwidell
The perfect definition for me is "a female geek". I grew up with two older brothers, and each has had their influence on me. My oldest brother--he was a gear-head. He helped me become independent by drawing me a picture of how to fix my car, rather than fixing it himself. (Thanks to him, I spent the later part of my teenage years with dirty fingernails.) My youngest-older brother--he was the tech-head. He would spend hours in his room, soldering this to that, creating home-built radios and other electronic doo-dads. He taught me the difference between a capacitor and a diode. Thanks to him, I was able to fix one of my first computers, a Commodore 64 that was a victim of a lightning strike.

These days I am a self-employed network consultant. I specialize in Microsoft networks, am a Dell authorized reseller, work with Dell, HP, and Cisco products, and have experience with high-end telecommunications equipment (high density fax servers, etc.). I started out in Novell, earning my CNA certification, but discontinued that track when I started working at a company that used Microsoft's NT. I'm also an MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer). Many people I meet up with in my travels ask me what training I had to get to be able to do my job. I'm pretty much self-taught (thanks bros), and I believe it's my interest in computers and technology, and my resourcefulness, that helped get me where I am.

My everyday interests are quite varied. I love gardening (plants, flowers, not vegetables), and doing home improvements that the everyday person can do. Some people say my house is right out of Martha Stewart, but it has a long way to go!! I'm an avid eBayer - and have been selling on eBay for over eight years now. I've always been a deal-finder and love making money. :)

There are two other people in my life -- my daughter that will be 5 in October, and my fiance', Mike.

Enjoy!!
